250/250 PROGRESS REPORT

UNITED STATES SAMPLES = 30   INTERNATIONAL SAMPLES = 26

What a great week! We've hit and passed 50 samples! That's 10% of the way to our goal of 500! It took a month and a half to get there so I'm going to be positive and say that we are almost  on target to do this!  There  are samples from Maine Mississippi, South Carolina, a  fossiliferous sample from  Kentucky, and a sample from Puerto Rico.   Enjoy!  Be sure to check out the samples from  Antarctica! I have posted ten samples from the US Polar Rock Repository at The Ohio State University. Those folks were kind enough to lend me ten samples from their collection. Note: All sand images, unless otherwise noted,  were taken at the "3X" setting on the macro lens which translates to a magnification of  approximately 9.2 times. Fossil samples are usually not macro images because of their large size.
